Handbook—Introduction
Play Away is a private day nursery offering full-time and part-time care to children
aged between 3 months and 5 years of age. Established in 1993, Play Away has grown
and has now firmly established itself as a centre offering quality childcare to
families throughout Halton and the surrounding areas. At the centre of our philosophy
is the desire that you can leave your baby or child with us, happy in the knowledge
that they will be loved and cared for as you would wish.
The carefully planned and co-ordinated play plans ensure that your baby or child
will get the most out of their time with us both in terms of education and enjoyment.
Your involvement in the activities we undertake is encouraged and welcomed and you
will have open access to your child’s progress. It is through the close relationship
we have with our parents that we are able to promote the Early Learning Goals that
will over time help your little one with the transition from nursery to school.
The staff at Play Away are experienced in working with young children and are committed
to ensuring that all the children get the very most out of every session, day and
week. We have a strong code of equal opportunities both for the staff and children
and operate a policy where everyone is treated with the same love and respect regardless
of age, colour or ability.
Since its inception, Play Away has been OFSTED approved and the staff working with
the 3–5 year old children have all successfully completed OFSTED approved
training courses on the Early
